Protect Oakley Senior Citizens and Children!
Elk Meadows Assisted Living Facility seeks to sell out to a rehab center/halfway house. Oakley residents must contact City officials (City Council, Mayor and Planning Commission) to ask them to not allow changes to the conditional use permit to permit this type of business at this location.
Points of Concern:
- Oakley's most vulnerable seniors would be forced to move into Salt Lake City or other cities, away from their loved ones.
- Even in inner cities, drug rehab facilities/halfway houses are not usually permitted close to parks and schools. This facility is very close to our park and rodeo grounds.
- Property values will go down. Oakley is a very tiny town and this will change the very character and reputation of the town.
